We came to this cafe 2 years ago and my girlfriend couldn’t forget their Hojicha latte and had to have another drink on our return trip to Kyoto. The cafe is a relaxed atmosphere with quiet music and a beautiful zen garden which opens up on the walkway between the two dining areas. I ordered a pizza sandwich and the medium house blend. The sandwich was good but I found it lacking a bit of flavour. The coffee, on the other hand, was very nice and had a smooth taste with minimal acidity. My girlfriend said “the hojicha tastes exactly as I remember” which attest to their consistency. Overall, a great experience

It is a famous shop in Kyoto which is located in the heart of the city. I cannot imagine I need to wait for a time which was full house during thr tea time. It is a good place to taste a kind of old Japanese style coffee: medium to dark roaster. I am happy to have a relax moment with wife and tasting Ogawa's signature coffee.

The charcoal-grilled toast was soft and fluffy on the inside, and the special butter that came with it was surprisingly good. The coffee had a deep, roasted aroma and a rich flavor. It really captured that classic Kyoto-style taste. The space is beautifully designed and feels very calm, with a small garden in the center that adds to the relaxing atmosphere. A great spot to take a break and enjoy breakfast or a quiet cup of coffee in Kyoto.

Nice coffee, nice place. Their shokupan - like bread is good, we ordered the sugar toast. The place was busy at tea time, not many foreigners when we were there. The food dan coffee was ok, service was great, however I suppose this place is not too baby friendly. We came with our 11 m.o baby with minimum sound/cooing and no crying, but the people there somehow seemed uncomfortable with the baby. Plus point, this place has diaper changing stand, which rarely found in a regular coffee shop.

A perfect spot for a relaxed Kyoto breakfast. Excellent coffee with smooth, well-balanced flavor. The toast with melted cheese and mushrooms was simple, comforting, and made with great-quality ingredients. Calm atmosphere, stylish interior, and attentive service make it a great place to slow down and enjoy the morning. A solid choice for both coffee lovers and a quiet start to the day.

Calm & peaceful. A must to re-visit everytime I come to kyoto. The toasted thick bread is 美味しい! Coffee is yummy and the sweetness of the pound cake balanced well with the chestnut. @kopichusg
